About our curation services

  • Curation services within Sámi art and for Sámi artists
  • Our artistpartners represent art forms such as visual arts, film, dance, theater, choreography, TV production, performing arts, design, authorship, music, and joik.
  • We curate exhibitions, performing arts projects, programs and themes, artist talks, events, and occasions.

The process

The curation process has several phases and is briefly explained as follows:

1. PRELIMINARY CONVERSATIONS - INTRO MEETING
From Dáiddadállu's side, the administration, the artistic director, and artist partners participate as needed. The purpose is to clarify the order, budget, timeline, objectives, and desired outcome.

Price for the intro conversation is NOK 2500,-

2. AGREEMENT
Written agreement on the assignment. From Dáiddadállu's side, this is carried out by the administration and the artistic director.

3. CHOOSING A CURATOR / CURATORS
Dáiddadállu does not have one permanent curator. We engage curators based on the nature and needs of the project. The curator can be some from the administration, artistic leaders, artist partners, or other hired Sámi or indigenous curators.

4. CURATION
The curator/curators has a dialogue with the client and starts the curation process.

(5. PRODUCTION - IF INCLUDED IN THE ORDER What is curated is produced. This can be a short or long process, depending on the project.)

6. DELIVERY
The result of the curation and the delivery.

7. CLOSING CONVERSATION
Information, knowledge transfer and evaluation together with the client.
A one-hour closing conversation.
