There are big things going on at the Elle Sofa Company. Elle Sofe Company is one of six performing arts companies that receives a four-year artist support from the Norwegian Culture Council. In addition, the performance "Vástádus Eana – The Answer is Land" has also been nominated for the art critic's award by the Norwegian Critics' Association Section for theatre, music and dance.

Elle Sofe Company in Troms and Finnmark is run by Sami choreographer and director Elle Sofe Sara, who is also both an artist partner and one of the founders of Dáiddadállu. She has taken her dance art to both the film screen and the theater stage, and she was an artistic profile during the Northern Norway Festival 2020-2021.

Four-year artist support

Elle Sofe Company is one of six performing arts companies that receive artistry support from the Culture Council. The support is given over four years, and it is a goal that the scheme should promote both established and new artistry, and ensure both genre diversity and geographical spread.

- This is huge and means a lot to the cultural business life in Kautokeino and contributes to the municipality retaining its position as the holder of the country's highest proportion of independent arts and cultural business operators. We are incredibly proud of Elle Sofe Company and everything they achieve, and we look forward to following the company in the years ahead, says Dine Fenger Lynge, general manager of Dáiddadállu. The Norwegian Critics Association's section for theatre, music and dance annually awards one critics' prize for theatre, one for music and one for dance. Each of the awards honors an outstanding, living artistic achievement, chosen by the country's collective critics.
