Artistpartner Sire nominated for the Ibsenprisen

28.02.25

Siri Broch Johansen is nominated with the play "Per Hansen, a faithful man/oskkáldas almmái", which premiered at the Riksteatret october 3rd 2024. And now she might be awarded with the prestigious Ibsen-award.

The Ibsen Prize is awarded annually to a dramatic text that has had its premiere or Norwegian premiere at a professional Norwegian theatre, or in another professional and artistic context, during the previous calendar year. The national Ibsen prize is Norway's only drama award, created by Skien municipality and first awarded in 1986.

The other two nominees are Jon Fosse with the play "Einkvan" and Goksøyr og Martens "MomA". This is Juho Sire´s second nomination, as she was previously nominated in 2023 for the play "Sálva/Håndtak".

The prize consists of NOK 150,000 and a statuette made by Nina Sundbye.

Part of the jury´s argument:

"With Per Hansen, Siri Broch Johansen/Juho-Sire has written an everyday fate drama about adult love and sexuality that never becomes banal, and which is existential without shouting it out. It touches the innermost part of us: the longing for another person and the fear of being alone".

The winner will be announced on thursday March 20th at 19.00 at Ibsenhuset in Skien.
