Summer was not all vacation

At Riddu Riđđu festival, the performance «Suoidnekaboom» was shown. Anitta Suikkari and Anja Saiva Bongo Bjørnstad performed there in this project which Máret Ánne Sara has been the artistic director in, and also created the art pieces used in the performance.

Susanne Hætta's installation «Dan botta go vuorddašat soabadeami» (While we wait for reconciliation) was also at Riddu Riđđu. Susanne and Dáiddadállu invited people to sit down for a coffee and a talk (see photo). Topics they talked about were diverse; duodji (Sami handicraft), old traditions and knowledge that is getting lost, and about truth and reconciliation.

  • Anitta, Anja, Máret Ánne and Susanne are also working on other projects later this year. Read more about that in this article.

Ken Are Bongo has been busy directing a new tv-series, «Torna a Surriento». The locations were in Inari, Sápmi (Finland), and in Naples, Italy. The series is written by Jens Martin Mienna, and International Sámi Film institute is among the funders.
