It is an honor that Dáiddadállu's co-founder and artist partner Máret Ánne Sara has been chosen to be this year's profile artist of Festspillene i Nord-Norge 2025.

Her exhibition "Háhčešeatni doali dádjadit" is at the Støperiet exhibition venue.

The viewers will be able to experience how Máret Ánne Sara explores modern materiality and social logic in the face of Sámi philosophy and worldview. There are snowmobile belts hanging floor to ceiling. The exhibition also consists of pieces made from metal, leather, grass and twigs.

Máret Ánne's exhibition also includes the performance «Čitna Báffa»

It takes place in the exhibition, and the dancers use the belts as an asset for their performance.

Alexandra Wingate, Anitta Katriina Suikkari, Anja Saiva Bongo Bjørnstad and Ina Dokmo have collaborated with Máret Ánne Sara in this production.

The sound work is based on music composed by Katarina Barruk, Arnljot Nordvik and Eirik Fjelde, which has then been adapted together with sound recordings by Máret Ánne Sara, Elin Már Øyen Vister and Kristine Hansen.

Schoolchildren also invited

Children from Hárštak schools' after-school programs receive a separate exhibition visit throughout the week.

Dáiddadállu in collaborations with our artist partner Sarakka Gaup is part of programming this experience for the school children. They are invited to see the exhibition, hear stories, and be artistic and creative at the exhibition.

Their host is Sarakka Gaup.

Nordaførr is an important part of the festival

During three days, Northern Norwegian and Sámi artists meet and engage with industry professionals from abroad. In this meeting place there are performances, concerts, and art experiences.

The first day is a panel discussion on "Common Things Made Holy," which is the theme of this year's festival. This year's artist, Máret Ánne Sara, will participate in this discussion.

On the same day, there will also be a section called "Meet the North." There, Dáiddadállu is also an invited institution, and we will have a presentation on our history and work.

Dáiddadállu sessions

During the ten years the network has existed, Dáiddadállu – Sámi Artist Network has worked purposefully to highlight Sámi art in national and international arenas. We document and pass on knowledge through various forms of communication – such as conversations, films, podcasts and interdisciplinary projects.
Now we invite you to a new edition of Dáiddadállu Sessions in collaboration with Festspillene Nord Norge and KORO

1. Artist talk; indigenous methodology and philosophical approach to Máret Ánne Sara's art.

XN HARSTAD 2025

Creative institutions and tourism industry meeting.

In XN Harstad Dáiddadállu will present our new strategi establishment of new businesses. Our vision is to contribute to growth, value creation and sustainable jobs in the Sami community. By profiling Sami art and culture in a global perspective, we want to meet increased international interest, and at the same time strengthen the financial basis for our artists.

The meeting is organized by Innovasjon Norge Arktis, NHO Arktis, NHO Reiseliv and Troms County Council.
