Dáiddadállu is the only one of its kind, with active Sami artists who engage widely in society, and who engage society via their artistry. We as an institution with artists who are aware of the role we play in society.
With this in mind, we kicked off the SápmiToo concept in 2019. In this concept, art and conversations are central to addressing relevant, current or urgent social issues at any given time. In 2019, we talked about gender roles, violence and sexual assault in Sápmi and how art can illuminate and open debate around this issue.
