structures are working to educate, train and strengthen art
and duodji in Sápmi, Kalaallit Nunaat and Canada. Starting
the discussion on how to develop new models for education,
training and capacity building that integrate practical, lived

• Elle Sofe Company’s apprentice programme and collaboration
with Talent Norway – an example of knowledge transfer and ex-
perience-building outside formal education.By Elle Sofe Sara

•The International Sámi Film Institute (ISFI) will present an
overview of its establishment and development since 2009, and
its role in strengthening Sámi filmmakers, Sámi storytelling,
and the Sámi film sector. Presented by Eva Måsø, Communica-
tions Consultant at the International Sámi Film Institute.
• Riddu Riđđu Festival – capacity building for Sámi artists working with music
and joik. Presentation of NANU – Sámi Arts International, a newly established
Sámi interdisciplinary export office and agency dedicated to promoting Sámi
art and culture internationally. Founded by Dáiddadállu and Riddu Riđđu Fes-
tival, NANU aims to strengthen market access for Sámi artists while ensuring
that expertise and knowledge remain within Sápmi. By the NANU Board.

This session explores how the SILA Bachelor program integrates both Western scientific approaches and Greenlandic Inuit knowledge systems, creating a decolonial model for community-based higher education in Greenland. -

Looking at the way forward for an Indigenous art and curator education that takes into account the Indigenous premises for this type of higher learning.

- A joint workshop, reflection and in-depth discussion on how existing artistic practices, artist-led initiatives, and established structures can be further strengthened and developed. Discussing how to develop new models for education, training and capacity building that integrate practical, lived methodologies, bridging critical theory and embodied practice, and identifying possible ways forward while imagining new initiatives.
